Day After Day: The Centenary of Doris Day

Doris Day and Film Review

From our 1955-1956 annual

On April 3rd, Film Review contributor Doris Day would have turned one hundred. She passed away in 2019 aged 97, just shy of becoming a centenarian. On the 100th anniversary of her birth, we’re taking a sentimental journey back through her filmography and sharing a few of our favourites. Click on a poster below and you’ll find anecdotes from Doris herself, as quoted from Doris Day Her Own Story by A.E. Hotchner.

Doris’ passion for animals was no secret love. Now in its fifth decade, the Doris Day Animal Foundation (founded by Doris), is committed to carrying on her legacy and vision to make the world a better place for animals.
